ABOUT THE CULT FILM COLLECTIVE
The Cult Film Collective was started in the fall of 2015 as a way to approach the difficulties of obtaining exhibition rights and rare 35mm film prints, by bonding together and using (aka losing) our own money to make it happen. We have since presented over 5 years of extremely rare screenings of films, including the programming and obtaining of prints for the All-Night Horrorthon fundraisers for our home base, the Trylon Cinema.
35mm WEEKENDS: We will continue to program rare archival and/or collector’s prints once a quarter at the Trylon Cinema. You can always buy tickets for our next series for sale at our Cult Film Collective widget on Trylon.org
THE VIDEO LIBRARY: We grew up on video stores and have always loved them. Part of our fascination with film is the tangible, physical presentation. We believe that same sentiment can be echoed in home video. We present to you, The Cult Film Collective Video Library. The Video Library will be a cooperative video rental “store” that will allow us to share our love of home video with you. Check our FAQ for more info.
THE CULT FILM COLLECTIVE ARCHIVAL SCREENINGS: The Collective’s quarterly 16mm programming will be in addition to its 35mm programming and include films that range anywhere from the 1970’s New Hollywood to classic horror to grindhouse to kung fu - All straight from our own Archive! The Collective has always emphasized the format of film presentation and 16mm is very special in that way, as it was used for television broadcasts, cinema clubs and home viewing. We have squirreled away dozens of great features and hundreds of shorts over the years - and we keep on growing.
